Hello Gian-Carlo,
I let a version of Q5T for a change run on this position but it also couldn't
find anything other than 1. Be2-f3 overnight. But that seems such an obvious
move to prevent a mate in one that I don't think that was the move you were
thinking off? Maybe I should run it again because I Alt-Tabbed back to Windows
after some time to read the election results and this is not always advisable
with Rebel Century. Especially on a very long analysis you run the risk of a
black screen, not even a blue screen, and not even Ctrl-Alt-Del can get you back
to Windows again.. Only a re-boot will help. I think it might have something to
do with Century writing results directly to the logfile and Windows (This is
Windows 98 Second Edition, Celeron 500 MHz computer) doesn't get time to
interrupt any operations going on in programs like Internet Explorer. Internet
Explorer may freeze because of this when you happen to be working in that with
Century in the background.
It can go well for a long time each time but if it is really to do with writing
to the logfile that happens only infrequently at deeper plies so that would
explain that. But I can't be entirely sure writing to the logfile is what is
causing this, I haven't really properly checked that. I'm using the L2 option
for separate logfiles for each run, by clicking on "properties" after right
clicking on the start-up icon and filling in C:\CENTURY3\REBEL.EXE V W5 L2 as
"path" to Rebel. I'm sorry Gian-Carlo, this of course is all of no concern to
you but I just thought I'd report it here on CCC...

On the subject of personalities, I would have liked to test Marc van Hal's
Kasparov 2 personality for Chessmaster 8000 on this position but I don't have
Chessmaster 8000 and Marc, I also believe you forgot to give a value for King
Safety when you posted your settings;

Name Kasparov 2 or Gambit Chessmaster Strenght at least equal to Chessmaster

Book strangely enough this doesn't realy matter it also knows to win with
infireur openings lines!
But I would sugest an openings book created out Kasparovs games sorted by 1-0 if
he was White and 0-1 if he was Black
or the book G kasparov or CM 8000 book
