As to the strenght of CM8, it did not win any tounaments against winboard engines, it was chrushed by Gandalf only winning few games out of about 80 (in serious tournament games). I could beat it, and the books are poor. it has no book.lrn to compensate for that, it has no endgame support and to my experience the strongest hash setting is still 1MB lol If by some miracle i could make it run again on my cpu i would not use it.
