Subject: Going to by new PC for Chess: P4 1.5 vs 1.3 Athlon? Which is best?

I'm going to buy a new PC for Chess.  Looks like its between the P4 1.5 vs 1.3
Athlon.  Is the Athlon faster?  How much (10%, 5% or what)?  Will the Athlon
last?  Is it a good processor?  Should I wait for a faster P4?
