I thought that default is 6 plies.

I know that it is the case with chessmaster6000 and based on analysis of Jhon
marlino I got the impression that default is 6 plies also for chessmaster8000.

I do not understand the reason for choosing default=6 plies because I find that
chessmaster is usually faster in solving test position with selective search=10
plies(it is for chessmaster6000 and I have not chessmaster8000).

I know that a program may be a better solver and not a better player but I saw
no clear evidence that chessmaster(ss=6) is a better player.
