Dear Readers, So far there seems to be mixed opinions regarding the DDR SDRAM issue and the RAM question. For those not familiar with DDR SDRAM, here's a source I consulted. Unfortunatly 99% of it went over my head. http://www6.tomshardware.com/mainboard/00q4/001030/ It seems that DDR SDRAM is twice as fast as SDRAM, but the writer kept making references to graphics. So my question is whether DDR SDRAM has a performance effect upon chess programs as well. If so, since DDR SDRAM is supposed to be twice as fast, does that mean that 256MB of DDR SDRAM is equivalent to 512MB of SDRAM? Sorry for asking such stupid questions, but I realy don't know the answers and presume that you readers do. Thanks in advance.
