The opening book is not THAT small, as it has approximately 45,000 moves in it (although many of them will not be played and they are just there in case the opponent plays them). But, yes, there is no book learning in the program. 2. For 40/120 games, Johan suggests a 32MB hash table (or perhaps a 64MB for a VERY fast processor). The SSDF is using a 32MB hash table. 3. The SSDF is using the patched version, so there is no problem with certain time controls. jm
