I'm interested in the history, use, success, shortcomings (inflation factor?), possible improvements of the ELO rating system as applied post-hoc or topically to human-human, computer-computer and human-computer games. When did computer engines first start getting ratings? Were they USA, European or FIDE ratings? Does the Swedish Computer-Computer league table have inflation built into it? Are there proposals for countering this inflation? What other games has the ELO system been applied to? Guy
