It's not that I don't share your curiosity about chess
performance on AMD versus P4, it's just that I don't have
Fritz, but I have a P4/1.3Ghz/128mg Ram. Someone put up a site
address re: relative performances of AMD vs P4, and the difference
in integer performance was _very_ marginal, for a given clockspeed.
I got a good deal on a P4 (box only), but I should have held off
for the next Pentium. 'Itanium', I think they are calling it.
Someone posted here that he was getting anywhere in the region
of 1300 to 1800 kns on a P4 overclocked to 1.8Ghz. I'm only presuming
that was his 'Fritzmark'. I guess this means the kn/s varies with
the position on the board.
