I think I basically would like to play the same moves in this position, Kurt.
The computer wants to play something else though than Akopian's 13. ..Ke8-d8.
But at least if 13. ..Ke8-d8 14. Ra1-c1 Ra8-c8 we are not mindlessly following a
lost game anymore. I think Gambit Tiger would be out of book then.

I tried to do some research but I couldn't find any more analysis of the game
Salov-Akopian after the moves 11.g2-g4 Nb8-c6 anymore, there is just a mention
of a game Lputian-Mirumian Ankara zt 1995 with 11. ..Bb4, that's were the
analysis of this game stops... That's in New In Chess Yearbook 42, in an article
about this line of the Trompowsky. The article is rather pessimistic about
Black's chances after 8. ..Qxd4 though, Ian Rogers prefers 8. ..Nc6 as given
later by Nunn in his NCO as well.

I just could find a mention that Salov was particularly pleased with this game
with which he knocked Akopian out of the Hoogovens K.O. style tournament that
year. Salov was playing very well those days.
