Subject: Analysing using a sensory board

Hello,

I'm looking for a combination of sensory board and software that would
record automatically the analysis I'm making.

For a simple example, let's say I was looking at the King's gambit
accepted:

1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 ....

after playing throught and recording some lines, I decided to check the KG
declined, so I would set the position after 1.e4 e5 2.f4 (NOT set the
initial position and play the first moves again) and play 2...Bf5

Is there any combination of board + software that would automatically
find the right position in the recorded variations and insert the
new stuff correctly from there? This makes more sense on middlegame /
endgame postitions, I just used a simple opening example to try to be
clear.

The point is to keep analysing at the board, not worrying about the actual
recording process and using the keyboard / mouse as seldom as possible.

I would prefer if this featur was included on a database software like
Scid, CB or CA (is it? :-) ),so I could use database functiona directly,
but a separate program that would allow to save / load the variations to
a common format would suffice.

I'd also like to be able to use the board to play against the computer,
usign the same or other software, but for what I've seen, that seems to be
a common feature of chess software.

Thanks in advance,
Nuno
