I would even go further... Why chess programmers play 5-6 hour games in the WCC (and that lasts for days) whereas they could play many more (faster) games in the same number of days, with a much more accurate result as far as to know which one the strongest is... For humans, longer games are very different from blitz games. For computer, the difference is not so big. So why not play 1 hour game instead of 5-6 hour games ? Of course, you have less time for talking with your dear opponent during the game... :o) I don't know you all, but I guess this would relieve some programmers... :o) >And finally, you could complain if the program in question (Tiger) was only >specialized for fast time controls, but as you will see it is not.
