As you can see from your example a chess program is a very unstable system and
if even small parameters are changed (Spassky personality) this may have a
negative (positve) influence on the thinking process. I would not dare to say
that the Spassky personality misplays King and Pawn endings but in the given
situation the program fails to find the correct move.
