I think Feivel's intention was deeper than that.
After two or three decades of chess computers playing extremely boring chess,
now there is a relatively new program that plays differently.
Actually it is not totally new. A few years ago, there was CSTal, and I remember
people were frequently posting games. At that time nobody complained about these
single games posts. The discussion then was rather that CSTal was not as strong
as other chess programs.
Now we have a program which has both an interesting playing style AND a very
good level of play.
I think Feivel wanted to emphasize on that, because that it is still NEW and
SURPRISING.
In this spirit, Vincent's reaction was totally off.
