I think someone once mentioned 2 bytes per ply (minus ?? bytes standard overhead)? My understanding is 128K limit (for moves), so correct me if that is wrong. Additional opening moves/lines would have taken away from the ones that are provided. Blame the >= 2600 rated GM's, they are the ones who set the frequency. Results might be slightly different if polling a database other than 'CM8KBase'. With the Chessmaster 8000 opening book tools, 'Best' opening books could be as common as 'personalities', we just don't need to go there... I did not say my book was 'Best' by any standard, just that I tried to use some criteria when making it. Chessmaster as White will play: 1. d4 Weighted 100 2. e4 Weighted 100 3. Nf3 Weighted 25 4. c4 Weighted 25 As Black Chessmaster can also respond (with book) to 1. f4 2. g3 3. Nc3
