I have also had problems with setting up positions and then search for games valid to this position. Lately I also got totally weird results when trying the RR annotation. I browsed the opening key and it looked screwed up. A closer look at the DB in the Explorer, revealed that there were some extra files added to this DB. Probably this happened during previous operations with the DB (Big2001). So I copied this DB to a new one - Big201 - which, as intended, made me lose all the themes. Installed them once more - General, Openings, Tactics, Strategy, Endgame - and now not only search games but also the RR annotation seem to work! I put up the famous position from Pillsbury-Gunsberg, and the game was found allright. Also the opening key looked correct. So a tip for the search games option would be to try it out with the DB from the CD. If that works your present reference DB has been screwed up. Sune
