Copy the Fritz 6 engine file to say C:\ open it in a hex editor.
Replace instances of Fritz 6.eng with say Fritz6a.eng save the
file copy or move it to the engines folder and now you will have
a Fritz 6 eng and a Fritz6a.eng in your case the files would be identical.

I have Fritz6a, Fritz6b and Fritz6e files which all work and will
play each other.
