Yeah, you're right about the weeding ... coz what the thing mostly does is grow
... and it never shrinks either ... I remember it being something like a few
hundred kByte in the beginning, but the last time I looked it was about 7 MByte
(it's the combined sizes of system.dat & user.dat in the windows folder).

Now if you don't use too many programs it's easy to reinstall windows, but for
me it's a major hassle. The earlier windows versions used to handle the various
program settings through the use of separate .ini files in each of the program's
folders, a much better system IMHO.

Hey ... I'm one of the FOG, remember?, I wouldn't dare pulling your leg! Ok ...
that's not totally true, I like to tease a little :), but in this case you can
check it for yourself overhere:

Micro$oft just released a 2nd beta of Whistler (I'm hearing the Good, the Bad &
the Ugly in my head now) henceforth to be known as XP. It's supposed to combine
the stability of 2k and the user friendlyness / multimedia capability of ME. I
think it's a good thing, but don't know much about it yet, and am afraid of the
system requirements etc.

And the registration policy seems once again (eg. like Chessmaster's copy
protection) just to be annoying for the paying customers, whilst the illegal
copying crowds won't notice a thing of it. I wish the managers responsible would
think up a better solution than this.
