Yes, I was surprised at this too. I think it was about eight
years ago that I paid $200 Aus. for the DOS version of Genius2,
and when I upgraded to Genius4 for Windows, I had to return the
Genius2 master disk. It was a floppy, and I remember it had three
'lives' on the disk. You could transfer the lives between your
hard drive and the floppy.
I remember playing the Genius2 against Novag Expert, the Genius
winning every game, and that was on a 486 computer.
This free download is a real find.It downloaded quickly and easily
and gave me an icon on the desktop.
Genius programs are nice and user friendly, have no bugs, and
are strong. By today's standards, the hash table size is very
limited, but ram memory was expensive in those days.
