I do not believe in it.
I believe that 6/12 in CM6k and probably also in CM8k means the following:
1)first 6 plies brute force without null move pruning.
2)next 6 plies brute force with null move pruning
3)big extensions

Chessmaster can see mate in 18 at depthes like  3/13(I use ss=10) and with 13
plies selective it could not see even mate in 8.

You are also right here.
I am not sure if 36 is exactly the right number and I suspect that it is 37 but
it is clearly close to 36.
