I have a special version of Nimzo, called "Schach dem Schweinehund", which comes with some of these NCD endgame files too, and I think this program uses them by default (I didn't test much) - But I noticed no problems whatsoever on my 64 MB notebook while running it. The biggest of those files is only 370 KB though. I think, if you experience memory problems due to the NCD files, it *may* be useful to move the larger ones away and use only the (preferable complete set of) 4-piece endgames. Ch.Donninger has written, that the NCD endgames provide a tremendous speed-up effect for the search, much better than the "standard" nalimovs. Maybe you can at least preserve part of this advantage by leaving the files away which are too large? Btw. I didn't see anyone else reporting this problem before... but I don't have Nimzo 7 or 8. Hopefully someone of the Nimzo team will reply, or other Nimzo users. Regards, M.Scheidl
