There are others available, and possibly even better ones (this is all a
question of individual taste, of course). Also "PC" != "Win95", some
people might actually be running Linux.

Not quite sure what you want to tell us, Korner, but this looks
seriously wrong ;)

a) Fixation, PowerICS, and MacICS-TCP are all for use at sites listed
under (1). Neither of them is shareware, tho - I assume "(S)" is for
shareware - but all freeware.

b) "Internet Chess for the Mac" is for use at chessclub.com only

c) "Outland Chess" is for use at Outland's own proprietary server

d) I never heard of "FringeChess".

e) Small introduction to Mac version numbers: If a version number has a
prefix like "D-", "J-", "F-" or even "Z-", this specifies the language
in which the program communicates with the user. Above examples would be
German, Japanese, French, and English. There are several flavours of
English, namely British ("E-" I think), American ("US-") and
International ("Z-").

It is safe to drop the prefix if no other languages exist, but I was
originally planning on localized German, French and Spanish versions in
addition to the Int'l English version, hence I dubbed the latter
"Z-1.x". I think it is a plus to include the language in any case; you
can not safely assume a program is in English only because it lacks a
language prefix.

Just my $.02, of course.
