There's also the "Define Personality" screen where you can leave all settings alone except for the Playing Strength. This can be set from the default of 100 down to 1. It has a way of limiting the search (timewise) so that in one minute of real time, it searches only a few ply deep. That may be worth experimenting with. Additionally, you can deliberately change other parameters on that screen to make Rebel even weaker -- like turning down the King Safety to some low value so you can get some attacking practice. Or devaluing passed pawns so you can get some endgame practice with passers, etc. Roy
