John,

CM8K works fine on both machines, and no loss of strength either.

What I did was this....
Download from the web page I gave earlier.

You get a file called winboard232b.exe and some HTML documentation.

Save winboard232b.exe in the program files/Chessmaster 8000 directory

In CM8K import a new XBOARD engine and point the file name to
c:\program files\Chessmaster 8000\winboard232b

In the parameters field type in the COM port the null modem cable is connected
to:-

-COM2 -NOEXTEND ( nb -COM1 is default )

Do this for both machines.
Now Game-New game - Set up the players as Chessmaster and winboard232b
( of course alternate the players on each machine )
and presto you have 2 CM8K machines playing each other.

Now, do I now have a licence problem or can you blag me a freebie ;-P

Cheers
Scott
