I am playing a tournament at 40 moves in 2 hours with the top 5
programs. It all started as a Fritz 5 test, and then I decided to keep
going in tournament form with all programs playing on equal platforms
and optimized for best performance. I couldn't include Junior 4.6
because I can't think of a way to make it autoplay a match with Fritz 5.
Results so far (I hope the formatting will be readable):
R9 F5 H6 N98 M7.1 Score %
Rebel 9 ----- 9 13 22/40 55.00%
Fritz 5 11 ----- 9 11 10.5 41.5/80 51.88%
Hiarcs 6 11 ----- 11/20 55.00%
Nimzo 98 7 9 ----- 5 21/50 42.00%
Mchess 7.1 9.5 5 ----- 14.5/30 48.33%

* games Fritz 5 - Nimzo 98 played with 48 MB hashtables
Fritz 5 has played all its games and it scored 51.88 %, or some 15 Elo
points better than the average of the opponents. I still see Fritz 5 as
being roughly as strong as the other top 4, but not stronger.
Rebel 9 is doing so far much better than in the SSDF matches. There it
lost to Nimzo 98 and Fritz 5 (badly), and here it scored 55% in the 40
games against them.
Finishing the tournament will take 3 or 4 more weeks. :(((
Any suggestions about where to post the games?
Enrique
