Bob, Did I use "md5sum"? No, I don't know what that is. There are no instructions on how to use the files in tbexe.zip. Which program do I use to test the file, and what are the command lines for it? That's what I don't know. By the way, my process for determining that the file "krpkr.nbb.emd" had a problem was that Fritz6 would abort at startup. Only by removing the krpkr.nbb.emd file from my tablebase directory would Fritz start up and run normally. [That took quite a while to figure out.] Thanks, John
