Ok, I understand (I think). I was confused by the post where you said:

After reading John Merlino's post about excessive hash clearing under the
current patched version of CM8000, I decided to try the top two candidates from
my last tourney with only one meg hash each.
As you can see the results this time are much different.
                   win      draw    loss     games     score
CM Default          22       18      10       50        31
CM KKND 1 MB Ram    10       18      22       50        19
--------------

That's why draws are scored as well. The difference was one point, even though
the KKND personality actually won 3 more games. Notice that they both LOST the
same number of games (at least you get SOMETHING for a draw).

However, there's no way that personality settings can affect the speed at which
the hash table clears. It automatically happens at the beginning of every move,
regardless....
