I sometimes play on the Internet Chess Club as mrslug. go to
http://www.chessclub.com for the Blitzin software, and a free 7 day
trial.

As a 'chess software addict', I have Fritz5, ChessBase 6.0, Chess
Mentor, Chess Genius Gold, CM 5500 on my 200 MHZ pentium computer. I
have many other chess software programs, but there is no space on my 2
gig hard drive reserved for them, and I don't use the one's I do have
enough at all - There is just so much squeezing out the time of my life!
I reckon that most, (if not all) of the posters here and at
rec.games.chess.computer are science fiction fans. In any case, most
are very inteligent, even the 'crazy' ones we wish would go away!

An interesting thing about the chess software world to me, is that not
necessarily all of the brillian people who have created chess playing
software, even play chess! I find that quite facinating, because in
1983, I was the most active rated chess player in the United States with
495 games, and now in the last year and half, I haven't played one
over-the-board rated game! - Nor do I miss it very much. The stress and
frustration of trying to improve, has overcome my desire for advancement
in the 'chessplayer's' world.
