Hi Allan.
I'm not gemmed up with the latest gigawhatit's and megaflops but do have some
advice for you.

Laptops come in 2 distinct flavours - all integral equipment ( CD, floppy etc )
and external ( connect with various leads etc )

If you get one that has an external CD drive then you may need to have that
attached all the time you want to play chess.
The reason - ( The industry seem to be heading towards copy protection that
requires the CD in at all times [CM8K!]- or at least every time you start a game
)

And if the CD drive is external then you have hours of fun trying to sort out
the leads,external power supply etc.
