Hey Frank,

If it was up to me then you would lose your interest in computer chess :-),
because I don't see why Shredder should have any particular rights when it comes
to challenging Kramnik or anybody else for that matter. However, I do find the
prospect of a qualification tournament in somebody's "basement" to be completely
ridiculous. Especially if the statement at the Millennium website is true. That
is regardless of the person in charge.

The most natural way to conduct such a tournament would be an arrangement by BGN
that resolves the need for programmer participation and complete public access
by a decent coverage. Of course there are the usual problems with hardware and
special tournament preparation. They can hopefully be resolved.

Either way, I don't see why previous tournaments or the SSDF list has any
relevance for this particular event.
