Is it imperative that the programs considered must be SMP? That seems to be the case. IMO that is an ad hoc stipulation. As I have said earlier an Intel eight way machine is faster than a four way but has serious limitations due to the , may I say inferior, Intel bus. The speed increase should make the search a fraction over one ply deeper. That is somewhat significant, but not totally dominating other factors such as book and evaluation quality. The NPS numbers are a main selling point it seems. But any match would be welcome however unsatisfactory or incoprehensible the selection process. Regards Dan Andersson
