M-Chess Pro. was no. 1 in 1995 winning every tournament and being no. 1 in the
SSDF list.
It was improved in version 6, 7 and 8, but not enough because Marty could not
work on it due to personal problems.
After that it stop working on his program.
The best version however is 8.70 which was never released.
The problem is that when you reach such a top level you need to work only on the
chess engine to make it better. To work only on free time is not enough!
This is the real problem!!
