That could also be a possibility, depending on what standards you wish the match
to be played by. That is, an amateur or a professional event. And since it's
supposed to be a challenge event, the latter option seems like the most obvious
choice.

The other scenario would lack the validation of the authors and distributors,
which I believe to be a necessity if it has to have any credibility in the
public whatsoever. Maybe I'm silly, but it seems very obvious.

Given the scarce information released at this point by various sources, it might
actually not be a lot better than the rather crude option you mention and they
get $5000 as well. Not a bad deal.
