Noone knows what have happened previously except the involved parties. Maybe BGN wanted more money or maybe the terms were unacceptable. Who knows and who really cares. The important thing is having a credible execution of the proposed match. I've explained what I meant by that. The credibility comes from the absolute involvement of the challengers (authors and their program) as an authentication of the serious nature of the match. And by execution I mean a fair method of finding the challenger. That requires openness about conditions, tournament parameters and results. In other words a professional arrangement instead of amateur hour. Amateur hour is currently on the menu. Mogens.
