I think it confirms there is some sort of limitation on my system, but where it lies I know not!! I won't be bothering Chessbase again, so I'll have to search for a solution elsewhere. If anyone reading this has any ideas, please reply.....Fritz 6 works perfectly well under Windows 98 on my machine by the way, which tended to suggest a Windows ME incompatibility, until Patrick's reply.
