It is all about sales and publicity. Nothing to do with being fair or responsible or ethical. You might have noticed that _I_ haven't put my name into the mix. Even though I am _certain_ that I could play as well or better than _any_ commercial program, given the kind of hardware I could bring to bear on such a match (a big multiple-cpu alpha for example). But SMK has earned the right to play. He proposed the match. I believe he should be the one to play it. Regardless of how well I (or anyone else) believes our programs would do...
