Let's assume that the Kasparov-Kramnyik match was a world title match. Now, it has been won by Kramnyik. Why are so many of us still unsure about who is the best player in the world? Because of Kasparov's tournament results and rating (Remember Petrosian!). The computer world champion is Shredder. Why do so many of you have doubts whether it is really the strongest? Because of the SSDF rating list. I believe that the two cases should be approached the same way. That is, if Kramnyik is regarded as best (because he won the world championships), then Shredder should also be regarded as best (because it won - not even once - the world championships). This makes the issue simple to solve: the rightful opponent - for Kramnyik - is Shredder. Gábor
