Though I'm not in favour of the viewpoint that titles means that it's the strongest program available, the term "strongest" is ambigious and can't be resolved in a basement or hotel tournament during the weekend. The titles do suggest that the Shredder team (engine+author+book creator) is best under conditions similar to the proposed match (at the moment). That should count for something regardless of pet programs and imaginary strength estimations put forth by people here. >P.S. I tend to believe that a qualifying tournament is a viable solution with the correct handling by organizers. Transparent conditions for admission - as open as possible - and close accordance with ICCA rules. And since the initial negotiations between BGN and Millennium are shipwrecked, it seems to the best solution left. However, it's already too late to change AFAIK. Mogens.
