Otherwise the conspiracy theorists will have a field day and the event will mean nothing. Need I say more than "remember deep blue vs Kasparov"??? Where even Kasparov accused the DB team of cheating. What happens if a third-party runs the qualifying event? _I_ would not be willing to do so. That is a lose-lose proposition for whomever does it, unless each program and author is there...
