Deep Blue. Clearly the best of the best, by a significant margin. But this is not likely, so; 2. Deep Shredder. Since Shredder has won everything the last two years or so, and since it holds both the WMCCC and WCCC titles, it is a natural. Unless there are reasons why it can't compete; if so, 3. Some sort of qualifier. But not run in someone's basement. A real event, perhaps even something like CCT on the chess server where every author _could_ enter his program, on the best hardware he can locate, and therefore produce the "best of the best" computer chess program. But I would start at the first point if I could, else go to #2, and if that fails on to #3. I would _not_ start at #3 first. It is a direct insult to the ICCA and to Shredder as well... Nobody has beaten it in 2 years. What is suddenly so new that this can be thrown out?
