Secondly, if it really were Bobby Fischer, he wouldn't waste his time playing weak players. Look at the history of this account and judge for yourself. Thirdly, if those GMs really thought he was Bobby Fischer, they wouldn't go around telling every Tom, Dick or Harry, since they would want him to keep hanging around. Those GMs are trying to fool people in at least one of 2 ways: (1) Convince people the GMs & IMs really think the comp is Bobby Fischer. (2) Convince people to think the comp actually is Bobby Fischer. They caught you cold with (1), and about 5% with (2) since you are going to the trouble of playing this "guy" (comp) and taking the matter far too seriously than it deserves, etc. They are also having fun at the expense of the guy trying to pull the deception, getting him all excited about "being able to fool all those GMs & IMs", etc. If you want to turn the tables on them, tell them you are now convinced and see how far they will go. When they finally tell you he really isn't Bobby Fischer, don't believe them! Insist he is Bobby and tell them how Bobby said he thinks you are a promising player, etc. Otherwise, smile and move on.
