There is also the FICS site, and there are many sites you can find by simply using a search engine. I must concur that ICC has the most enjoyable site, as people of all ratings can compete with an opponent of almost any strebgth they choose. The major flaw with the CHessmaster site (in my opinion) is that you begin with a rating of 1200, regardless of your actual strength, and it is very hard to ascend because everyone there aslo has such a low rating that it is very hard to gain many points.
