prof. hyatt, i agree with you to the extent that if my little tourny's where intended to be serious comparisans of engines, i would be more meticulous. this is mostly fun for me. there are plenty of qualified people here to do the hard stuff. my total system ram is 96 mg.i try to give each program 30 mb,or as close as i can get it. that is why i give crafty only 24 m. other wise its 48-96,etc... i also give it 16 mb hashp,4 mb hash egtb.(3 & 4 man nam.) i could shorten the book width,but damn,its darn fun to watch,crafty comes up with some good stuff once in a while when it leaves the book on some of the more dubious lines.catches the best programs in the so called latest greatest lines. its a whole heck of a lot of fun for me. the book and pos. learn files should have some good things in them. thanks for the post. regards sincerly, mike
