Hello, Paul!

It is true but still it is not so speedy when it must be searched by brute
force. Mine went for 23 sec before responding. 7 moves said "No" only after 13
sec. of reflection. Selective, in 8 moves, is instant.
When creating the last positions, I am all the time looking into two programs
(beyond mine two versions) to see where I am. This is because I am rewriting now
my mate code. Data for this last position (maybe will be interesting for you)
for Genius 2 and Rebel 10. I don't know if Genius use some hash but Rebel
without any. Brute force. Celeron 600Mhz.
Genius 2 Rebel 10
4 moves 0 sec 8 sec
5 moves 4 sec 3 min 18 sec (probably Genius use hash)
6 moves 1 min 9 sec
7 moves 33 min 50 sec
I am sure that Genius will not find mate in one instant but it goes quit well.

Don't be in rush, Paul! Everybody enjoy somewhere some bugs. Few that I found
were hidden in my code for some years. Some others still like to stay with me.
Happy week-end!
Leonid.
