Here in the US, we have a bias towards GM Benjamin as our computer playing guru. After his work with IBM, and his many Harvard Cup experiences, not to mention his numerous title victories, I think that he too, would be an outstanding opponent vs. Rebel. While I do agree that Karpov did have the easiest path of resistance (none), he and Kasparov should still merit a little more respect then they are given. Personally, I feel that either Kramnik or Shirov are much better players than Anand. However, I must admit that I have no idea as to how beneficial a match against either of these two would be to Rebel . Regardless of my opinioon, I think that it is great to have GM Anand play Rebel ( and for no booty at that !!). I wish Rebel and Ed the best of luck and look forward to some great games from this match !
