I don't remember complaining loudly about anything. If someone wants to organize a match between some computer and some human, more power to them. I don't care who plays against who. It's none of my business. This goes for Kasparov vs DB or Rebel vs anyone or Junior vs anyone or whatever. I've never been among those who complain that DB should have had to have been in some playoff to determine whether it should play against Kasparov in an IBM sponsored match. It's IBM's money. This thing is different because there is a qualifying event. A sham event, since it's just two Chessbase programs playing, but the public won't figure that out. Once that is over, the winner is going to be portrayed as the champion of something. Just wait; it will be public perception that whatever wins the qualifier is world champion. bruce
