I don't think that most of the SMP capable programs would participate for a number of different reasons. Most of them mentioned here by authors like Schröder, Hyatt and Moreland. It depends on the percieved nature of the event, ie. if it's an alternative World Championship or just a strong invitational. Some wouldn't participate in either, because they distrust the organizer's intentions or find that Shredder is the obvious choice no matter what, while others are tempted by the publicity. Mogens.
