Christophe,

>It is clear and official that it is not Champion vs Champion.

For the readers of this forum!
And for the people which hear the publicity?

>It is officially best prog vs Kramnik.

Bad, best prog?
And if Junior vs. Fritz played?

Is Junior the best program?
Is Fritz the best program?

or

Is Tiger the best program?
Is Ferret the best program, or Shredder, or Gandalf?

Do you have at the moment all actual versions and enough games against
grandmaster, other computers to say this is the best program?

I don`t know!

>Shredder has been invited so the "sport" part has been respected. Then it sounds absolutely logical that the best program has to be determined by a qualifying round.

We play a qualification tourney, OK !
Next months or this months with 1.000 games from the "best" 10 programs.

Now 5 months later the match Kramnik vs. Winner of the qualification tourney.

Is the winner now 5 months later the "best" program?
Or make the programmers important changes and maybe an other program is 5 months
later the "best" program?

Best program is for me not important.
We have a lot of very strong programs, important is for me only which of this
programs won the last world championchip. Won Tiger, Tiger must play, won
Shredder, Shredder must play.

>What is not logical is that one of the best program of today has simply been
>IGNORED in the selection process.

You have a very good list of points, I see your opinion and I think your opinion
is OK (can understand your opinion). So I wrote last week Shredder must played
because Shredder is World Champion. The other way to play a new World
Championchip can solved all problems, Christophe. I see not an other way.

>The excuse is "you have no commercial SMP version".

:-))
Which person have the idea with SMP versions?
Braingames?

Or the organizers?
An interesting question!!

Know Braingames that chess programs have SMP technical. Or say an organizer the
best chess progams are compatible to SMP and SMP is clear better than single
processor programs and the best programs are compatible to SMP.

Christophe, please thinking about this.

>I can provide a SMP version, but it is not a commercial one. BTW, Deep Blue has
>been invited, and it has no commercial version. The versions of Deep Fritz and
>Deep Junior that are going to compete are not the commercial versions.

>But who cares, no commercial SMP Tiger, so Mr Théron is out.

SMP is for me not important!

A new WM and all programs can play with SMP or without SMP.

If you have a SMP version, you have the qualification to play the Enrique and
Bertils living room tourney to his conditions. For me is this not very
interesting. The conditions are bad, very bad and a red card for chess
programmers all over the world from not official persons which organizers an 7
Million Dollar event.

>The next excuse is: "you will provide your SMP version too late". Good joke! I
>have been told only a few days ago.

I agreed :-))

>This leaves a very sour taste in my mouth.

Christophe, forget all your points for the next seconds. Please answere of the
following questions:

What is your opinion about a new world championchip and the winner play against
Kramnik ?

Best
Frank

PS:
My opinion is not BullShit, sorry !
