Subject: Progs' different evaluations or authors' different temper ?

Hello,

I have followed in live the games between Kasparov and Chapman with my 2
programs, Fritz 6 and Hiarcs 7.32. Hiarcs looks systematically "optimistic",
very often with more than +1.00 point in most of the moves. In the same time, F6
seems to evaluate positions in a way I could describe as more "pessimistic" (or
the opposite) according the colour point of view.
What explanations could be given for this ? Is this only a programmation
problem, or the mark of author's temper, or something else ?
If this is only a question of parameters of the chess software, why do certain
authors give more importance to, for example, King's security ?
A given position seems a priori to be the same for 2 differents programs, but
maybe or surely it is not the case in reality.
In advance thank you for any idea.

P.Goette
