the word "world champion" can mean a number of different things to diferent
people-can mean "the best player in the world" or a person who has won the title
called "world champinship" by a pvt organisation or "the world championship that
has been organised by the official body.

as far as humans are concerned, the best player in the world, based on
performances against a variety of opponents is kasparov; the world champion of a
privately organised match is kramnik and the world champion of the official
body's tournament is anand.

in the current instance the "pvt world champion" krmanik is playing aginst the
winner of a "privately organised "qualifying championship" supervised by a
private individual-enrique.in each case there are similarities-kramnik was
invited to play against kasparov; here certain programmes are invited to play
against each other for the right to meet kramnik.

since the official body ICCA headed by david levy has now suddenly become
interested, why not ask them as the official body for computer chess to organise
a match between " the official human world chess champion, anand" and " the
official computer world champion shredder". as this will be a match between 2
"official world champions" it will no doubt have more credibility than a match
between 2 unoffical competitors which is being held now.no doubt as an official
organisation the ICCA will not find any problem in finding funding and
sponsorship for such a match.

i think this will satisfy everyone-in due course of time someone can organise a
unification match between the 2 champions.
