Phalanx is very strong. The Crazy Bishop is very strong. Get your own stable of thoroughbred ponies for the price of a download. For that matter, why not buy some professional programs. Chess programs are a real bargain in the software world. Considering the enormous effort that goes into them, you can get high level programs for about $100 which is a tremendous bargain. Titanic masters who will slave for you at your beck and call, whenever you like. I am very fond of Rebel, Chess Tiger, and I think Shredder is a real eye-popper too. I don't have any of the chessbase programs because I use Chess Assistant. I don't think the chessbase engines will work in that environment.
